Glen Grunwald, President & CEO of the Toronto Board of Trade, was born in Chicago, Illinois in 1958 and obtained his Canadian citizenship in 1999.

His career includes experience as a corporate attorney for major law firms in Chicago and Denver, co-founder of two companies (one in leisure products, the other in mergers and acquisitions), vice-president of the Denver Nuggets basketball club, legal counsel to a major television pay-per-view network and, most recently, senior vice-president and general manager of the Toronto Raptors.

In addition to his law degree, he holds an MBA and an honours business degree in marketing.

Mr. Grunwald came to Toronto in 1994. He is married and has three children.

Karen H. Sheriff is President, Small and Medium Business. Before her appointment in June 2003, she was Chief Marketing Officer for Bell Canada where she has successfully refocused Bell's marketing to prepare for the future growth of key customer segments. Ms. Sheriff joined Bell Canada in May 1999 as Senior Vice President of Product Management & Development.


Previously, Ms. Sheriff was responsible for corporate marketing and branding at Ameritech Inc. She also held a variety of assignments with Ameritech and United Airlines, where she began her career.


Ms. Sheriff holds a bachelor's degree in psychology, economics and mathematics, with a minor in metalsmithing from Washington University in St. Louis in 1979 and a master's degree in business administration, with concentrations in Marketing and Finance, from the University of Chicago in 1984.


In November 2004, she was recognized by The Women's Executive Network (WXN) as one of Canada's Top 100 Most Powerful Women.
Karen is a Board member of Aliant, The Gardiner Museum of Ceramic Art and the Canadian Chamber of Commerce.

Louie has been focused on IP technologies for the past 15 years. Louie spent 10 years at Cisco Systems where he held increasingly senior management positions in Systems Engineering and was a certified Internetworking Expert.

More recently, Louie was Director of Solutions Architecture at Tenor Networks. Louie has authoured a number of technical papers which have been published in trade journals and has been a speaker at such events as Networkers, VON, Network World/Interop and others.

Louie holds a Bachelor of Engineering Physics from McMaster University in Hamilton, Ontario.

Sylvie Giguere is Vice-President of sales Quebec for Bell Canada's Quebec small and medium business market. As a recognized leader in the information technology field, Ms. Giguere and her team provide Bell clients with business solutions that enable them to improve their productivity and competitiveness.

Ms. Giguere has 16 years experience in business and high tech, specifically in sales, administration and information systems. Prior to joining Bell in September 2004, she was Cisco's Vice-President for the Quebec region and was in charge of all activities relating to sales, finance and support for large-scale organizations, service suppliers and commercial partners. Ms. Giguere has also held several senior management positions with SAP, LGS Group, SHL Systemhouse and IBM Canada.

Sylvie Giguere has a Bachelor's degree in Administrative and Commercial Studies from the University of Western Ontario, as well as a graduate diploma in business French from the Chambre de commerce et d'industrie de Paris.

Ms. Giguere is actively involved in the business community. She is also a member of the Centre de recherche informatique de Montreal's (CRIM) board of directors.

Prior to Small Business BC, Tara has significant experience in the creation and maintenance of strategic alliances between government, corporations and communities. Today, Tara steers Small Business BC's key initiative the REV- Regional Economic Vitality. The REV initiative is an economic acceleration strategy that identifies and satisfies community development needs.

Mr. Gordon was the visionary and the founder of many high-profile Canadian telecom and IT shows, such as VoicePower, Integrated Solutions, CTI World, CRMPower, B2BPower, eCustomer World, Wi-FiPower and most recently, the IP World Canada event. Mr. Gordon's preeminent vision for a national consulting organization that would establish a code of ethics for independent consultants let to the formation of the CTCA (Canadian Telecommunications Consulting Association) back in 1984. He then went on to serve as its founding president.

Kellman Meghu started out as a Unix Administrator developing server solutions for various ISP's, but tired of constantly restoring his hacked UNIX boxes, so he turned his attention to network security. In a time when the Internet was really just starting to get a hold of mainstream use(1996) he learned and developed security strategies to protect various ISP's in Southern Ontario. From there he developed a contract positions with various companies for ethical hacking sessions that eventually led into the role of Security Administrator for EDS Canada in 1998. As part of this role his responsibilities included design and implementation of Network Security, as well as policy documentation. By 2000 Kellman had moved on to new endeavors with Alcatel, which presented for him the opportunity to work on design and implementation of network solutions, utilizing his experience with security practices, combined with new technologies such as Voice Over IP. Kellman is now Security Engineering Manager for Check Point Canada, a role that permits him to oversee a variety of security needs across different verticals and customers.

In public service, Cindy held the position of Special Assistant - Premiers Initiatives under the direction of the Hon. Mike Harris, Former Premier of Ontario. She also served as Chief of Staff for the Minister of Environment and Energy with responsibility for political strategy, legislative and policy agenda, and communications and public relations strategy.

She with her team are leading the journey to IP solutions supporting the Small and Medium business market?s Virtual CIO vision by building and growing ProConnect and Voice over IP solutions.

She recently launched ProConnect which was the first of major development activities in Bell's move to IP solutions for business customers in both the enterprise and small and medium business markets. Prior to Bell, Vera worked as a senior business consultant for the Entrepreneurship Centre, a non-profit centre that helps individuals set up and start small business. Through her leadership in the centre she supported thousands of entrepreneurs starting small businesses in Ottawa through training, education, consulting and support programs. Susan has held a variety of positions during her 25 years in I.T. She attended McMaster University, and started her IT career with Westinghouse Canada in Hamilton. Susan spent 14 years in the insurance / reinsurance sector, as a Project Manager, Data Architect, and then Applications Director. She also has experience in the Cable/Broadband industry, and Healthcare. Susan has held national positions on Software Advisory boards, and was previously National User Group President for Software AG.

In her current role, Susan is responsible for all hardware, software, and infrastructure for VitalAire's 70 Canadian locations. She recently managed the completion of VitalAire's network replacement project, as well as a redesign and relaunch of the corporate website. Currently, VitalAire is working to replace their ERP later this year, as well as cutting over to VoIP and investigating application of new technologies in Healthcare.

Simon joined TELUS 15 years ago, following the privatization of the company. Simon's previous experience includes senior management positions in the electronics, manufacturing and energy industries on a global basis. His functional experience has included Marketing, Sales, Management Consulting and Human Resources. He has constantly been in central roles in the midst of major industry and organizational transition.

Simon holds an MBA in marketing from the University of Calgary and a bachelor's degree in political science and economics from Queen's University. Simon is a member of the Board of Directors for Calgary Technologies Inc. (CTI) and the Management Advisory Council for the Haskayne School of Business, as well as being currently nominated as First Vice President for the Alberta Chambers of Commerce.
